Individual Who Received Child Pornography Sentenced

Defendant Who Received Dozens of Child Pornography Images Sentenced to 66 Months of Imprisonment

ALBANY, NY—United States Attorney Richard S. Hartunian, Patrick Coultry, Resident Agent in Charge of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, and Clifford C. Holly, Special Agent-in-Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Albany Division, announced that JAMES KING, age 58, of Albany, New York, was sentenced on September 12, 2011, by the Honorable Thomas J. McAvoy in Federal District Court in Albany on his guilty plea to one count of receiving child pornography. KING was sentenced to 66 months of imprisonment. Following his term of imprisonment, KING will be placed on supervised release for ten years. KING was also ordered to: (1) have no unsupervised contact with minors; and (2) register with the New York State Sex Offender Registry Program.

In November 2008, investigators received information that KING had ordered child pornography DVDs from an individual located outside of the United States. On June 11, 2009, investigators executed a search warrant at KING’s residence in Albany, New York and seized a computer that was used by KING to obtain, download and possess child pornography. Investigators also seized DVDs that contained child pornography. KING pled guilty on February 24, 2011 to receiving child pornography.

This case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
