Muskogee Resident Pleads Guilty to Possession of Stolen Firearms


MUSKOGEE, OK—The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, announced that PIERRE CHARVEZ SHIPP, age 20, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, pled guilty to possession of stolen firearms, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(j).

The charge arose from an investigation by the Muskogee Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The defendant was indicted in February 2012, along with WENDELL IRWIN HUTCHINSON, JR. HUTCHINSON pled guilty on March 16, 2012.

The indictment alleged that on or about December 10, 2011, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant, knowingly possessed and concealed stolen firearms that had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce, while knowing and having reasonable cause to believe the firearms were stolen.

The Honorable Kimberly E. West, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, accepted the defendant’s guilty plea and ordered the completion of a presentence report. Sentencing will be scheduled following its completion.

The statutory range of punishment is not more than 10 years’ imprisonment and/or up to a $250,000.00 fine. The defendant remains in the custody of the United States Marshals Service.
