Robbery of Provident Bank Branch in Clifton


Today, April 17, 2012, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Provident Bank branch located at 562 Lexington Avenue in Clifton, New Jersey was robbed by a lone male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black bandanna, dark jeans, and white gloves. He was also brandishing a revolver.

The subject jumped over the teller counter and demanded money from the tellers. The money was placed in a black cloth shopping-style bag. The subject fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information about this or any other bank robbery is urged to contact the FBI at 973-792-3000. Citizens are reminded that they should never attempt to apprehend a fugitive; in an emergency, call 911.
