Harrisburg, PA – United States Marshal Martin J. Pane
announced today that the United States Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task
Force arrested Darlene Lugo, a 31-year old woman, in Lancaster, PA.
In August, 2013, the York City Police Department began
investigating allegations that Lugo committed sexual offenses against minors in
York County, Pennsylvania. On December 19, an arrest warrant was issued by
Magisterial District Judge Barbara Nixon, charging Lugo with the following
offenses:
2 Counts -
Criminal Solicitation – Rape of Child
Counts - Criminal
Solicitation - Incest
2 Counts -
Corruption of Minors
2 Counts -
Corruption of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above
On January 6, 2014, the York City Police Department
requested assistance of the USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of
Pennsylvania to locate and apprehend Lugo.
Fugitive Task Force members developed information that Lugo
may have fled to the Lancaster area. An investigative lead was sent to U.S.
Marshals in Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
On January 7, Lugo was arrested without incident in the 500
block of Howard Ave in Lancaster. She was transported to the York County Prison,
and turned over to local authorities for processing pending further judicial
proceedings.
United States Marshal Pane stated, “It is the duty and
responsibility of the U.S. Marshals Service to arrest fugitives wanted for
crimes against children. Persons charged with these types of crimes are given
the highest priority. This most recent arrest is a testament to the Task
Force’s commitment to make our area communities more safe and secure.”
The USMS worked jointly in this investigation with officers
from the York City Police Department, York County Sheriff’s Office,
Pennsylvania State Police, and Lancaster City Police Department. Assistance was
provided by USMS personnel and task force members from the Eastern District of
Pennsylvania.
The concept of all USMS-led fugitive task forces is to seek
out and arrest the nation’s most dangerous offenders.
