U.S. Marshals End New Jersey Homicide Suspect's Run in Charlotte, North Carolina

Charlotte, NC – Yesterday afternoon at 3:15 PM, Kyle Rodriquez, a 32 year old, Black Male was arrested after a combined effort by the U.S. Marshals Task Force members from both Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina. Rodriquez was wanted by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office for the May 2013 murder of a man in Camden, New Jersey. The victim had been shot several times in the head and torso.

The U.S. Marshals New York / New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force (NY/NJRFTF) had begun the fugitive investigation on Rodriquez. Information was developed leading investigators to believe that Rodriquez had fled to North Carolina. The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) was able to link Rodriquez to multiple individuals in both Cabarrus and Mecklenburg counties that had ties to New Jersey. JFTF investigators were led to an address in Charlotte and after several hours of surveillance, Rodriquez was taken into custody without incident at 2517 Rozzelle Ferry Rd. At the time of his arrest, Rodriquez was in possession of numerous fictitious identification documents. Investigators transported Rodriquez to the Mecklenburg County jail where he awaits extradition back to New Jersey to face these charges.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
