NIJ joins OVC in Supporting the 2016 National Crime Victims’ Service Awards

Our sister agency, the Office for Victims of Crime, is now accepting nominations for the 2016 National Crime Victims’ Service Awards, which recognize individuals, teams, programs and organizations that demonstrate outstanding service in support of victims and victim services.

Every year, the award recipients are selected from public nominations and honored at the National Crime Victims’ Service Awards Ceremony held in Washington. Last year, NIJ-sponsored researcher Dr. Rebecca Campbell was honored for her 25 years of research on violence against women and children, with an emphasis on sexual assault. Her research and partnership-based approach has helped the field create the most effective, competent and appropriate responses to victims that minimize trauma and revictimization. Her work has significantly improved the nation’s understanding of sexual assault and has promoted victim-centered responses.

You can find information to help write a successful nomination by visiting the OVC website. Submit your nominations by July 30, 2015, through OVC's Online Nomination Form.
