Harrisburg, PA - Today, United States Marshal Martin J. Pane
announced the arrests of Wendell Montalvo-Montalvo, 21, and James Reddick, 61,
in York, PA.
On August 3, 2016, the York City Police Department obtained
an arrest warrant charging Montalvo-Montalvo with aggravated assault – victim
less than 6 and defendant 18 or older, simple assault and endangering welfare
of children – parent/guardian/other commits offense. The warrant stems from the
alleged use of physical violence on a child in his care on July 14, 2016.
On August 4, 2016, the York City Police Department obtained
an arrest warrant charging Reddick with failure to register with the
Pennsylvania State Police as part of his Megan’s Law requirement. Due to his
conviction for rape in 1986, Reddick is required to register as a sex offender.
In early July, it is alleged that Reddick failed to comply with this obligation
for which an arrest warrant was issued.
Earlier today, Montalvo-Montalvo was located and arrested
without incident in the 500 block of West Philadelphia Street and Reddick was
located and arrested without incident in the 300 block of West Market Street,
in York. Both men were turned over to local authorities for processing and
court proceedings.
United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “The U.S.
Marshals Service Task Force places a high priority on cases in which there is
the use or threat of violence against innocent victims. Our community will not
be a safe haven for those charged with such crimes. We will seek them out so
they may face justice.”
The USMS worked jointly in this investigation with personnel
from the Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole,
York City Police Department, York County Sheriff’s Office and the York County
District Attorney’s Office.
