May 3, 2010 - ST. LOUIS, MO—The United States Attorney’s Office announced today that John D. Farnell has been arrested on a federal complaint charging one violation of 18 U.S.C. Section 2113 (a), bank robbery.
According to the affidavit filed with the criminal complaint, on April 29, 2010, a male entered the First Community National Bank of Crawford county in Cuba, MO and approached a teller. The individual placed a black colored zipped bag on the counter, pointed a handgun at the teller, and demanded money. The teller complied and gave him $4,662. The individual drove away from the bank. Law enforcement agencies were notified and given a description of the vehicle and the subject. Based on this description, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested John David Farnell.
Farnell, 58, Fulton, MO, is expected to appear Friday afternoon in federal court, in St. Louis.
The charges set forth in a criminal complaint are merely accusations, and each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
