Woman Indicted for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury
May 21, 2010 - U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a woman has been indicted by a federal grand jury for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault resulting in serious bodily injury, and aiding and abetting. Denna Pauline Andrews, a/k/a Denna Pauline Buckman, age 19, was indicted by a federal grand jury on April 23, 2010, for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault resulting in serious bodily injury, and aiding and abetting. She appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy on May 20, 2010, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years of imprisonment and three years of supervised release for all of the charges. The charge is merely an accusation, and Andrews is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The investigation is being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carolyn G. Olson is prosecuting the case. Andrews was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal. A trial date has not yet been set.
