On Friday, May 13, 2011, around 1:30 in the afternoon, a lone white male, armed with a handgun, walked into the MB Financial Bank branch, 2345 W. 183rd St., Homewood, Illinois (inside the Walt’s grocery store). He approached the teller counter and orally announced a robbery, threatening the teller with harm if his demands for cash were not met. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber fled the bank on foot, direction not known. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported as a result of this robbery.
He is described as approximately 6’ tall, medium build, closely cropped (balding) hair, beard, glasses, wearing a black suit, white shirt, and tie.
The FBI is working together with the Homewood Police Department on this investigation. Anyone having any information regarding this robbery is asked to call either the Chicago Office of the FBI at 312-421-6700 or the Homewood Police Department 708-206-3420.
