Seeking Information on Hampton Bank Robbery

On May 13, 2011, at approximately 9:50 a.m., the Merchant Bank branch located at 23280 Main Street in Hampton, Minnesota, was robbed by a lone masked man. The robber came into the bank and walked up to a teller that was on duty. He displayed a long-barreled revolver and made a verbal demand for money. The teller complied with the demand and provided the robber with an undisclosed amount of money from a teller drawer. The robber walked out of the bank with the money in his hand and headed in a southbound direction. He may have left the area in a white, early 2000s model Dodge or Chrysler vehicle. No one was injured during the robbery.

The robber was described as a white male, about 5'10" tall, and approximately 180 pounds with a medium build. He wore a blue hooded jacket, light blue jeans, black ski mask, black gloves, and black loafers. A witness outside the bank described an individual in the white vehicle, who may have been the bank robber, as a white male, about 35 years old, with sandy brown hair and a slight goatee.

Donald E. Oswald, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis Office of the FBI, requests that anyone with information regarding this bank robbery contact the Minneapolis FBI Office at 612-376-3200, the Dakota County Sheriff's Office at 651/438-4700, or Crime Stoppers at 800/222-8477.
