Lansdowne Man Charged with Transmitting Threats Over the Internet


Justin J. Vernot (28 years of age), of Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, was charged today by indictment with transmitting threats over the Internet, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The indictment charges that Vernot used Twitter to send threats to kill and rape a woman and to kill the woman’s son.

If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 25 years in prison, a $1.25 million fine, and a special assessment of $500.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael L. Levy.
