February 2, 2010 - Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, February 1, 2010, that Derick A. Stephens, a resident of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Johnstown to 10 months in prison and three years of supervised release on his conviction of distribution of cocaine.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Stephens, age 32.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., on August 5 and August 11, 2008, Stephens distributed less than 500 grams of cocaine on each date.
Mr. Cessar commended the Johnstown Police Department, the Cambria County Drug Task Force, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation/Laurel Highlands Resident Agency for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Stephens.
