Del Rio, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass South Station seized more than 300 pounds of marijuana Tuesday.
At approximately 1 a.m., agents responded to suspicious activity near the Rio Grande River south of Eagle Pass. With the help of a service canine agents located two large bundles hidden in a drainage ditch. The green military-style duffle bags contained at total of 10 packages of marijuana. Around 2 p.m., agents working near the same location found three more duffle bags, containing 187 pounds of marijuana.
No arrests were made in either incident. The contraband, which has an estimated value of approximately $250,000, was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
