Fort Thompson Man Sentenced on Drug Charge

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Fort Thompson man charged with distribution of marijuana to a person under the age of 21 was sentenced on May 9, 2011, by U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange. Maurice Quigley, age 35, was sentenced to 12 months and one day in custody, four years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.

Quigley was indicted by a federal grand jury in July 2010 on two counts of distribution of marijuana to a person under the age of 21. The charge stems from the sale of marijuana to a person who was less than 21, but more than 18 years old, by Quigley in November of 2009. Quigley pled guilty to count one in February 2011.

This case was investigated by the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ted L. McBride prosecuted the case.

Quigley was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
