U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Suspect Sought for Crimes Against a Minor

Harrisburg, PA – United States Marshal Martin J. Pane announced today that the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force arrested John Corsaniti, a 53-year old man, in Falling Water, West Virginia.

In February of 2013, the Northern York County Regional Police Department began investigating allegations that Corsaniti had inappropriate communication with a minor in York County, Pennsylvania.

On April 5, 2013, an arrest warrant was issued by Magisterial District Judge Margaret Bria, charging Corsaniti with the following offenses:

    Promoting Prostitution-Encourage Prostitution
Corruption of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or above
Unlawful Contact with Minor – Sexual Offenses

In September of 2013, the Northern York County Regional Police Department requested assistance of the USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania to locate and apprehend Corsaniti.

Fugitive Task Force members developed information that Corsaniti may have fled to the state of Maryland. An investigative lead was sent to U.S. Marshals assigned to the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF). CARFTF personnel developed information that Corsaniti might be in the Falling Water, West Virginia area. Contact was made with U.S. Marshals from the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force (MSFTF).

On May 8, Corsaniti was arrested without incident in the 100 block of Dove Lane in Falling Water by members of the USMS MSFTF. He was transported to the Eastern Regional Berkeley County Jail, and turned over to local authorities for processing pending judicial proceedings concerning his extradition to Pennsylvania.

United States Marshal Pane stated, “It is critically important that the U.S. Marshals Service locate and arrest fugitives wanted for crimes against minors. Persons charged with these types of crimes are given the highest priority. This arrest is a testament of the Task Force’s commitment to make our communities safer and more secure.”

The USMS worked jointly in this investigation with officers from the York City Police Department and the York County Sheriff’s Office. Additional assistance was also provided by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, Mountain State Fugitive Task Force and the West Virginia State Police.
The concept of all USMS-led fugitive task forces is to seek out and arrest the nation’s most dangerous offenders.
