Webinar on Data-Driven Approaches to Crime and Traffic Safety

A webinar on the Data-Driven Approaches to Crime and Traffic Safety (DDACTS) program will be held May 28, 2014, at 2 p.m. Eastern time. DDACTS integrates location-based crime and traffic data to establish effective methods for deploying law enforcement and other resources. Using geomapping to identify areas that have high incidences of crime and crashes, DDACTS uses traffic enforcement strategies that play a dual role in fighting crime and reducing crashes and traffic violations. The webinar, hosted by the Smart Policing Initiative, will be an interactive seminar to discuss recent evidence regarding the effectiveness of DDACTS, how DDACTS reflects Smart Policing Principles, and DDACTS information resources available to police agencies. Four police agencies will also discuss their experiences with DDACTS, including Roanoke County, Va., Metro Nashville, Tenn., Mesa, Ariz., and Shawnee, Kan. For more information and to register, go to http://www.smartpolicinginitiative.com/tta/ddacts-webinar.
