Colorado Man Sentenced for Mailing Threatening Letter to Federal Officials
United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that an Englewood, Colorado man charged with Mailing Threatening Communications was sentenced on June 15, 2010, by U.S. District Court Judge Richard H. Battey. Thomas Jensen, age 35, was sentenced to 96 months of imprisonment, three years' supervised release and a $100 victims' assessment. Jensen was indicted by a federal grand jury on April 11, 2008. In August, 2007, Jensen mailed a threatening letter to a federal official. He pled guilty to the offense on March 9, 2010. This case was investigated by the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carolyn G. Olson prosecuted the case. Jensen was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
