June 23, 2010 - The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Sheriff Ron Seals of the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect who robbed a BankEast bank in Seymour today.
At approximately 2:41 p.m., the suspect entered the BankEast bank located at 10304 Chapman Highway in Seymour, presented a note to a teller, and demanded money. Witnesses described the suspect as a large-framed white male in his thirties, approximately 6’ tall, weighing approximately 250 pounds. He was furthered described as bald or having very short light-colored hair and having a goatee. The suspect was wearing denim pants, a white polo shirt with horizontal stripes, and a camouflage print baseball-style hat. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect fled the bank on foot. Subsequently, the suspect was seen getting into the passenger side of a dark, possibly black, General Motors extended-cab pickup truck being driven by another heavy-set white male.
A reward is being offered for any information which leads to the arrest of this individual. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 865-544-0751 or the SCSO at 865-453-4668. This matter is being investigated jointly by the FBI SSTF (which consists of personnel from the FBI, KPD, and KCSO) and the SCSO Criminal Investigation Division.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
