BOSTON—A Bridgewater man was charged
today in federal court with possession of child pornography.
Kevin J. Balzarini, 36, was arrested and
charged today in United States District Court with one count of possession of
child pornography. According to the criminal complaint affidavit, Balzarini
shared an online image depicting a female child approximately 4 to 6 years old
on a bed in a sexually explicit pose. During a search of Balzarini’s home, two
laptops were recovered and approximately 30 printed-out images of child
pornography in his bedroom dresser drawer.
Balzarini faces up to 10 years in
prison, to be followed by mandatory minimum of five years, and a maximum
lifetime of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz
and Richard DesLauriers, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of
Investigation-Boston Field Division made the announcement today. The case is
being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael I. Yoon of Ortiz’s Major
Crimes Unit.
