Laredo Sector Border Patrol Holds Promotion Ceremony


Laredo, Texas – Laredo Sector Border Patrol Chief Patrol Agent John C. Esquivel presented new insignia ranks and certificates to 23 Border Patrol Agents and staff during a ceremony today to recognize their recent promotions.

Laredo Sector Border Patrol promoted 21 agents and two support personnel. The positions included supervisor, operations officer, executive officer, patrol agent in charge and directors.

The promotion ceremony recognized the achievements of agents and support staff that were promoted today. Currently there are more than 1,800 agents and employees assigned to the Laredo Sector.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control, and protection of our Nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
