Mission Man Pleads Guilty to Abusive Sexual Contact



U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that George Scott, Jr., age 27, of Mission, appeared before U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange on August 28, 2012, and pled guilty to a superseding information that charged him with abusive sexual contact. The maximum penalty upon conviction is two years’ imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, or both.

The conviction stems from an incident in March 2011 when Scott and the victim were at a party where both parties consumed alcoholic beverages. After the party concluded, both slept in the living room of the residence. The victim awoke in the early morning hours and found Scott engaging in sexual contact with her, without permission.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Troy Morley.

A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for November 21, 2012. The defendant was released on bond pending sentencing.
