Rain, Response, Rescues

Border Patrol Agents Assist Nogales Community

Tucson, Ariz. – As morning monsoon storms were creating extensive flooding in the Nogales area, Nogales Border Patrol agents were busy assisting other agencies with multiple vehicle accidents and rescues during and after heavy downpours.

Flood waters threatened several homes with increasingly high water levels while agents hurriedly extracted elderly homeowners and safely transported them to higher ground.

Border Patrol agents are often called upon to shift from law enforcement to rescue-mode in a moment’s notice. By collaborating with first responders, Border Patrol agents help make communities safer and stronger.

CBP welcomes assistance from the community. Citizens can report suspicious activity to the Border Patrol and remain anonymous by calling (877) 872-7435 toll free.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control, and protection of our Nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
