May 4, 2010 - Wilmington, DE – The United States Marshals Service have arrested a Wilmington man wanted by Wilmington Police in connection with a fatal crash that claimed the life of a popular community advocate. Jesus L. Pinkston, 22, whose last known address is the Fairview Inn on South Market Street, Wilmington is wanted in the hit-and-run death of 48-year-old Christopher W. White, executive director of the Community Legal Aid Society and the Shipley Village Community Development Corp. White was killed Wednesday afternoon, April 21 when a car driven by Pinkston ran onto a sidewalk in the 700 block of Shipley St., where the victim was walking.
Wilmington Police received information Pinkston fled to the DC area. Marshals in Delaware worked with the Marshals Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force to try and locate Pinkston.
A search of several locations paid off when the task force went to an apartment complex on the 8800 block of Lottsford Rd., Largo, MD. When deputy marshals approached the door, the female stated that there was no one in the apartment. A search of the apartment revealed Pinkston hiding in a closet.
Pinkston is being held in Prince George County, Maryland pending extradition back to Delaware.
