Erie Man Sentenced to Probation, Community Service for Reproducing, Selling Copyrighted Movies

ERIE, PA—A resident of Erie, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court to two years' probation and 50 hours of community service on his conviction of violating federal laws relating to criminal copyright infringement, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

United States District Judge Sean J. McLaughlin imposed the sentence on Randolph Scott Robson, 42.

According to information presented to the court, Robson reproduced and distributed approximately 1,500 copyrighted movies for a fee.

Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.

U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Robson.
