The FBI and San Diego Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown male dubbed the “Mr. Magoo Bandit,” believed responsible for robbing five San Diego banks since November 2010.
The latest robbery in this series occurred on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at approximately 4:15 p.m., with the robbery of the U.S. Bank, located at 1331 Rosecrans, San Diego, California. It is believed the suspect robbed this same bank on July 12, 2011. During the latest robbery, the suspect entered the bank and walked over to the customer service desk in the lobby area. The suspect then approached the victim teller and placed a demand note on the counter. The note advised that the teller was being robbed and demanded money. The victim teller complied with the robber’s demand and provided a sum of money. After receiving the money, the suspect walked out of the bank.
The “Mr. Magoo Bandit” is believed to be responsible for the following bank robberies:
1.November 23, 2010, Wells Fargo Bank, 1350 Fashion Valley Drive, San Diego.
2.June 6, 2011, Wells Fargo Bank, 1350 Fashion Valley Drive, San Diego
3.July 12, 2011, U.S. Bank, 1331 Rosecrans, San Diego.
4.July 27, 2011, U.S. Bank, 3201 University Avenue, San Diego.
5.August 10, 2011, U.S. Bank, 1331 Rosecrans, San Diego.
The “Mr. Magoo Bandit” is described as follows:

Age: 35 - 40 years old
Height: Approximately 5’10” to 5’11”
Weight: Approximately 185 lbs. to 200 lbs.
Build: Medium
Other: Glasses
Hair: Bald and clean shaven
