The Denver Police Department and the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force (RMSSTF) are investigating multiple bank robberies, believed to have been commented by the same individual.
The suspect is described as a white male, 30 to 40 years of age, approximately 5’8” to 6’0” in height. He has tattoos on his left shoulder and right forearm, he wears glasses in some of the robberies, and he has a large build and a potbelly.
The suspect demanded money and fled.
This individual has been dubbed the “The Top Heavy Bandit” by the RMSSTF, because of his stature.
The “The Top Heavy Bandit” is believed to be responsible for a total of four bank robberies.
Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense and increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.
The FBI continues to provide financial institutions with the best practices for security to make them less vulnerable to robberies.
