Firefighter Fatality

The United States Fire Administration (USFA) has received notice of the following firefighter fatality:

Status: Career
Years of Service: 23
Date of Incident: 07/29/2011
Time of Incident: 1735hrs
Date of Death: 07/29/2011

Fire Department: Perry Fire Department
Address: 732 Delaware ST, Perry, OK 73077-6425
Fire Department Chief: Wayne Emmons

Incident Description: Captain King passed away from a cause still to be determined while fighting a grass and abandoned structure fire. Weather conditions (heat) are being considered as a contributing factor in the death.
Incident Location: County Road 160 and Pioneer Road, Noble County, OK.
