US Marshal Kelvin Washington Announces Fugitive Arrests


April 17, 2010 - Charleston, SC - On Wednesday April 14th, 2010 the US Marshals Task Force, apprehended Donsurvi Chisolm at a bus stop in Los Angeles, CA. Chisolm was wanted on a Felony Murder Warrant out of Berkeley County, SC. On April 1st, 2010 at 2 Plainfield Avenue Goose Creek, SC Chisolm allegedly shot and killed his fourteen year old nephew Michael Chisolm and seriously injured his brother Donsa Chisolm.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the US Marshals of South Carolina on April 2nd, 2010 in locating Chisolm. Information provided to US Marshals led the investigation to Los Angeles, CA. Chisolm was arrested without incident and taken to Los Angeles County Jail where he is awaiting arraignment, bond, and extradition hearings set for Monday April, 19th, 2010.

Charleston, SC - On April 2nd, 2010 a major fugitive wanted on outstanding federal and state charges for Counterfeiting and Robbery was taken into custody by a team of law enforcement and US Marshals in Miami, FL.

David Kornahrens was wanted by the US Secret Service, Charleston County Sheriff’s Department, South Carolina Probation Parole and Pardon Services for Counterfeiting and Strong Arm Robbery. Kornahrens was also a suspect in the alleged foul play disappearance of Teista Burwell. Teista Burwell was reported missing December 26, 2007. However the initial investigation has revealed Burwell has been living with Kornahrens under an assumed name and identity in Miami, FL. Burwell was also taken into custody on a warrant for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. They will now have to return to South Carolina to face their pending charges.

Greenville, SC – On April 1st, 2010 US Marshals and local law enforcement officers arrested Robert G. Bowling at 1309 Madgie Lane, Pickens, SC. Bowling was wanted by the US Postal Inspector for Counterfeiting charges. Tips led US Marshals to the Madgie Lane address where Bowling attempted to flee the scene. Upon fleeing the scene Bowling struck a Task Force Officer with the vehicle and continued to drive away. US Marshals and Task Force Officers apprehended Bowling a short distance from the residence. Bowling was held without bond and is awaiting future court proceedings.

In fiscal 2009, the Marshals arrested more than 36,400 federal fugitives, clearing 39,400 felony warrants. Marshal’s Service-led task forces like South Carolina’s Operation Intercept arrested 90,800 state and local fugitives, clearing 117,000 felony warrants. Locally, Operation Intercept arrested over 2,500 South Carolina fugitives during that same period.
