Border Patrol Agents Seize More than $9 Million Worth of Marijuana
April 23, 2010 - Edinburg, Texas — U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector have been busy since Sunday with marijuana seizures.
April 18 - 22, agents seized an average of $1.8 million worth of marijuana a day. The multiple seizures spanned across the Rio Grande Valley from Brownsville to Rio Grande City and north to the Falfurrias and Kingsville Border Patrol Checkpoints.
Since October 1, 2009, The Rio Grande Valley Sector has had more than 2,300 separate narcotic seizures including marijuana, cocaine and heroin.
