May 5, 2010 - The FBI and the Cheltenham Police Department are seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the robbery of the Citizens Bank branch located at 3201 West Cheltenham Avenue in Wyncote, PA earlier today.
At approximately 2:58 p.m., an unidentified subject entered the bank carrying a bag. The subject presented a threatening demand note to a teller and displayed what appeared to be an improvised explosive device in the bag he was carrying. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, which the subject put into the bag, he fled the area of the bank on foot.
The subject is described as a black male, light skinned, 30 to 40 years of age, 6'0" tall, medium build, with a mustache, wearing a dark-colored NY Yankees baseball cap with white seams, and a light-colored "polo" type shirt. The subject also had white gauze wrapped from his chin to his head, a white cast on his right hand, and a brace on his right leg.
This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000, the Cheltenham Police Department, or their local police. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject's identification and apprehension.
