April 15, 2010 - Mission, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers and U.S. Border Patrol agents working outbound enforcement operations at the Anzalduas/Reynosa International Bridge seized 7,500 rounds of live ammunition early Saturday morning.
CBP officers and Border Patrol agents working the southbound lanes at the Anzalduas International Bridge came in contact with a southbound 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was headed into Mexico. The driver was identified as a 36-year-old Mexican citizen from Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. After a brief interview, the driver and vehicle were referred to secondary for further inspection. In secondary, officers found 7,500 rounds of live ammunition hidden within the pickup truck. CBP officers seized the ammunition and the vehicle.
