Multi-Agency Effort Leads to Arrest of Two Individuals Suspected of Bank Robbery

At approximately 6:00 last night, Dale Walker Johnson, age 35, of Russellville, Tennessee, was arrested without incident by the Morristown Police Department and was subsequently charged federally with Bank Robbery. Johnson is one of two individuals suspected of robbing the Consumer Credit Union in Morristown, Tennessee, on April 9, 2010.

At approximately 8:00 last night, Joseph Smallwood, age 30, of Speedwell, Tennessee, was arrested without incident at the Royal Inn & Suites in Knoxville, Tennessee, by members of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force. Smallwood is suspected of robbing the Consumer Credit Union in Morristown, Tennessee, on April 9, 2010 along with Dale Walker Johnson. Smallwood’s arrest was the result of a joint investigation between the Morristown Police Department and the FBI, KPD, and KCSO as part of the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
