U.S. Marshals Capture 15 Most Wanted Fugitive in NJ

April 17, 2010 - WASHINGTON – The U.S. Marshals Service captured 15 Most Wanted Fugitive enrique Done today at in Newark, N.J.

After a yearlong manhunt spanning the northeast United States, U.S. Marshals obtained information Done was in a residence on South 14th Street in Newark. Deputy U.S. Marshals, task force officers from the U.S. Marshals Service New York / New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force and a New Jersey State Police K-9 Unit found Done hiding in the basement of an associate’s residence.

Information developed through the investigation revealed Done had fled to various locations throughout New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Further investigation indicated he had arranged to flee to the Dominican Republic in an attempt to avoid apprehension.

U.S. Marshals placed Done on the U.S. Marshals 15 Most Wanted Fugitive list on March 24. Done was also wanted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in Newark and has been charged for his alleged role as the leader of an international drug trafficking conspiracy.

Following a DEA Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force investigation last year, Done was identified as the leader of a large-scale narcotics organization responsible for the alleged importation and distribution of multiple quantities of heroin and cocaine. He is also suspected of laundering the funds gained through his drug trade in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The U.S. Marshals are not the only federal agency that elevated Done to a higher priority. The DEA considered him a Priority Target and he was also wanted by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on an outstanding arrest warrant for deportation.

“Due to his wide-ranging, violent criminal history, both domestically and abroad, it was extremely important that we brought Done to justice.” said Director John F. Clark of the U.S. Marshals Service. “His arrest is a testament to the hard work and dedication our Deputy U.S. Marshals bring to the job every time we go after these violent criminals.”

Done is an alleged ranking member of the Los Deminos 666 (The Demons) street gang in the Newark area. He is a violent offender with several prior convictions for weapons possession and aggravated assault.
